Corporate governance:

A commitment to integrity & accountability

05-resize1

Corporate governance is more than a compliance requirement—it is the cornerstone of trust, transparency and long-term value creation. Over the past two decades, I have engaged deeply with governance frameworks across both the public and private sectors, helping shape boards that are not only accountable to shareholders but also responsive to broader stakeholder expectations.

My journey in governance began through my work in international development and continued in India’s evolving corporate sector, where I have served as an Independent Director on a diverse set of boards. I bring to the table a unique blend of perspectives—of a public policy reformer, a health systems leader and a financial analyst. These have enriched my boardroom contributions, particularly in areas of risk oversight, strategy, ethics and institutional resilience.

I have earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and completed the advanced governance training for audit committee members at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). These academic and professional foundations have enabled me to approach corporate governance with analytical rigour and contextual sensitivity.

Board experience: Independent oversight & strategic guidance

I currently serve as an Independent Director on the following listed companies:

I also serve on the boards of unlisted companies and startups at various stages of growth:

Across these roles, I have contributed to shaping governance charters, strengthening audit and risk oversight, promoting ESG alignment and supporting leadership transition in dynamic industry contexts.

Governance philosophy: Independence, insight & impact

Whether in listed companies, Section 8 institutions, or international bodies, I have consistently championed governance practices that are independent in judgement, rooted in transparency and aligned with institutional purpose. I believe that effective boards must not only manage risk but also shape resilience, respond to disruption and serve as catalysts of long-term transformation.

I view governance not as static oversight but as dynamic stewardship—one that evolves with societal expectations and regulatory complexity.

Looking ahead

India’s corporate landscape is at a turning point. As stakeholders increasingly demand accountability, diversity and ESG responsibility, boards must rise to the occasion. I remain committed to contributing to this transformation—by mentoring leadership, supporting ethical governance and enabling boards to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
